Christmas is coming which means joy for some and stress for others! It is promoted as the season of goodwill and being kind unto others (including ourselves), but for many people it can be a busy and sometimes difficult and stressful period. It can also be a time where we forget to slow down and do the things we enjoy and make us feel good, which is important to maintain our positive mental health and wellbeing.
Avoiding stress and stressful situations isn’t a realistic solution but focusing on what we can control and how we choose to respond to these situations is something we can do.
WayAhead – Mental Health Association NSW has created a list of really useful tips you can download that you can use as a checklist to get you through the pre and post Christmas holiday period with a smile.
There are also some useful tips from Superfriend about how to look after your mental health at Christmas too.
The Workplace Health Promotion Network (WHPN) would like to thank our members and supporters for all their energy, ideas and support in 2015. Also to those that may have visited our website, seen us present or received our WHPN eNews this year – we hope you decide to meet us in person at one of our meetings in 2016.
We wish for you a happy, healthy and relaxing Christmas holiday period.
