Workplaces Membership

The WayAhead Workplaces membership is for anyone who has responsibility for, or is interested in, promoting employee health and wellbeing within their own organisation. This includes professionals working in human resources, occupational health and safety, employee health and wellbeing, injury management, return to work, learning and development, nurses and psychologists.

Our membership network includes organisations from the legal and financial services, health, community and education sectors, private, government and charity organisations. Our meetings are held in Sydney and Brisbane but we have an online-only membership option for those who work outside of those areas across Australia. See who our members are.

Free memberships for micro businesses until 2023!

We know that micro business owners are some of the most impacted in this current climate. Having the weight of your business on your shoulders at a time like this can be harrowing and seriously impact your mental health. We also know that micro businesses contribute significantly to Australia’s economy, social fabric and ability to evolve.

Until 31 December 2022, WayAhead Workplaces are offering free online membership for all micro businesses. See the Membership Tiers and FAQ for further information.

Membership Benefits

Annual Members’ Forum

The WayAhead Workplaces Annual Members’ Forum brings together our network from across Australia for all-day event in June. The day’s theme is explored in depth through presentations by expert guest speakers, panel discussions and round-tables. We feature a range of voices including researchers, industry providers, government bodies, and lived-experience advocates, even our members themselves. The Forum is a space to connect with professionals from diverse sectors and backgrounds for networking, learning, and sharing experiences and ideas.

Quarterly Meetings

Join our half-day Quarterly Meetings in Sydney, Brisbane, or virtually for a range of expert guest speakers presenting the research, case studies, and industry updates that matter to our members. Stay up to date with workplace health and wellbeing sector over the course of the year and connect with your fellow members.

Online Workplace Resource Library

Our online Resource Library gives our members access to the latest information and tools to help them do their best possible work in workplace health and wellbeing, all in one place. Whether you’re looking for a handbook on hybrid work, research on job design, or a template for a wellbeing plan, we’ve got you covered. Search by key word or browse by topic tag or resource type to find the resources you need.
The Library also includes all speaker presentations from both the Sydney and Brisbane network meetings from the last 13 years.

Members and non members alike can sign up for the Workplaces Spotlight: A monthly digest of program updates, upcoming industry events, member discounts, and the latest research and resources in workplace wellbeing.

Further information

  • Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of application
  • Businesses located across Sydney and Brisbane require separate (two) memberships
  • If you wish to bring extra attendees to a one-off meeting in addition to your membership allocation, please complete a meeting registration form
  • If you wish to bring extra attendees on a regular basis to the meetings, in addition to your membership allocation, you may wish to purchase another membership
  • Access to the members-only section of the website is provided once membership payment is finalised

Additional Info for micro businesses

What is a micro business?

A micro business is a business with 1-3 employees and aggregated annual turnover between $30,000 and $75,000.

I am a small business, can I access Tier 0?

Only micro business owners are able to access this. WayAhead is a Not For Profit and relies on paid memberships to keep the program in existence. We also know that it is micro businesses that are suffering the most at the moment and want to be able to offer support without being at the cost of the program.

I am an existing member, can I access Tier 0?

If you are a micro business and currently have a paid membership, once your membership expires you are welcome to change to a Tier 0 free online only membership. Where your previous membership allowed you to attend events, Tier 0 will not.

Can I attend virtual member events?

Virtual events are not included in Tier 0 memberships.

What happens after 31 December 2022?

From 1 January 2023, all Tier 0 members will be required to renew their membership regardless of when they started their membership.

Tier 0 members will be able to choose between:

  • Online/Rural Membership – $350 (discounted to $200 for the first year)
  • Small Business Membership – $300 See membership tier table above for more details

Additional Info for Health providers

  • A Health Provider is defined as a business of any size that provides a paid service to other businesses.
  • A discretionary discount code is available for small Health Providers.
